In Reliable Supply Information, the grower is responsible for providing reliable product information himself. Reliable means: correct (accurate product description), complete (all data including quality status on the delivery form), and timely (information made available when needed). The Quality Control Service regulates supply information by means of random checks and corrects it as necessary.
Reliability index (BI)
The reliability of the supply information is indicated on the Reliability Index (BI). This shows to what extent the supply information was correct for the hundred previously delivered lots. A grower compiles a BI per product group and per location. Since the BI is displayed on the clock face, growers can use it to distinguish themselves from others for buyers. The auction uses BI when carrying out quality checks.
Cost-producer = cost-bearer principle
If the Quality Control Service needs to take corrective action, the costs are charged to the grower. The rate is € 3 for a correction prior to auction and € 10 for re-evaluation. As an extra incentive, growers who make few errors receive refunds for the correction charges incurred; a bonus provision.
