Help us and use auction trolleys for their intended purpose04 June 2019
We have noticed that people do not always use the auction trolleys for their intended purpose. This puts pressure on the number of auction trolleys available for the logistics processes. In order to prevent this, supervision and enforcement pertaining to the proper use of auction trolleys will be tightened from 1 August 2019 onwards.
We will start with a transition period on 12 June 2019. Our inspectors will start inspecting improper use of auction trolleys. During this transition period, they will tell you how you are doing. The inspectors will also hand out flyers. This way, you can get used to the new situation and adjust your processes accordingly if necessary.
What is and what is not allowed?
According to the General Terms and Conditions for Auction Trolleys (article 3.1), auction trolleys are intended exclusively for the transportation of Products and/or Packaging for which the transactions have been or will be settled through Royal FloraHolland. Improper use refers to any use of the auction trolleys that is not connected to the primary processes in relation to ornamental plants or flowers. This includes storage of products that are not floriculture-related, such as TVs, household goods and car tires, or loading with non-recyclable or unsorted waste. Even if you pay Internal Overnight Rental or have a box contract, this does allow for incorrect use.
What will change?
The general terms and conditions and guidelines for the correct use of auction trolleys will not change. However, we will perform stricter checks and enforce the ban on improper use. The objective is to increase the availability of auction trolleys.
