AIPH announces finalists for international grower of the year 202011 December 2019
On Tuesday, January 28, 2020, the prestigious award will be presented at the IPM Essen by the International Association of Horticultural Producers (AIPH)
The International Association of Horticultural Producers (AIPH) has announced the finalists of the International Grower of the Year (IGOTY) Awards 2020 which takes place on the 28th January 2020 at IPM Essen in Germany. Ten ornamentals growers from China, Ecuador, Israel, Kenya, South Africa, the Netherlands and the UK have reached the final. The International Grower of the Year Awards 2020 consists of four categories: finished plants and trees, cut flowers and bulbs, young plants and sustainability. Within each category, bronze, silver and gold awards will be given. One overall winner will be awarded the 'Gold Rose' and crowned International Grower of the Year 2020.

Citrina is one of the biggest Citrus wholesale growers in Europe, producing 1.5 million plants a year in four main pot sizes with distribution to 32 European countries. The company supplies the largest retailers in Europe.
Hasfarm Holdings Ltd, Hong Kong, China
In 1994 Hasfarm Holdings established Dalat Hasfarm in Lam Dong, Vietnam. The company wanted to grow high-quality flowers for the Japanese market and in Dalat they found the ideal conditions of climate, land, water and skilled labour.
Oserian Development Co. ltd, Kenya
As a leading cut flower producer in Kenya, Oserian grows a wide range of cut flowers, including roses, statice and spray carnations. Oserian cultivates over 200 hectares of cut flowers and is one of the world's largest Fairtrade cut flower producers.
An international jury of industry experts, led by AIPH Vice President Tim Edwards, assessed the competition entries against specific criteria relating to economic performance, innovation, market insight, sustainability and human resources. Through recognising best practice and performance in ornamentals production the AIPH IGOTY awards, supported by Headline Partner Royal FloraHolland, champion outstanding achievement and celebrate the expertise and energy that the best growers give to ornamental horticulture. All winners will be announced at the IGOTY Awards 2020 ceremony taking place at the AIPH-approved IPM ESSEN trade fair. As a headline partner, Steven Schilfgaarde CEO of Royal FloraHolland, will present the award to the winner of 2019.
